The moral of deciding to take action

Take actionOften we give up on the things we want, far too soon. We stop pursuing goals, or dreams shortly after we’ve set them. There could be many reasons for that; lack of free time, an unexpected illness, responsibilities, etc.

Unfortunately though, many times it’s simply because we believe those dreams are just too big, or to difficult to achieve quickly enough.

How many times have you looked back over the years and thought,

“if only I’d started doing this thing X years ago, I’d have achieved it by now”, or

“I can’t believe I put this off three years ago, I’d be so much further on by now”.

I have two quotes for you to think about today,

“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now.” ~ Chinese Proverb

and

“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to achieve it. The time will pass anyway” ~ Earl Nightingale

Don’t be the one who looks back in five years and says “I wish I’d….”.

Start today and in five years say “I’m glad I…”.

Everything in this life comes back to our ability to take action. Don’t be held back by procrastination.

The past has gone and you don’t know what’ll happen in the future. You only have this moment, so take action and live it well!

What things have you let slip in the past? What are you determined to do from today? Let me know in the comments.
